Graphic design

Our branding and graphic design services for print include logos, stationery, launch presenters, emailers, packaging design, publications, flyers and posters. Digital design services include: infographics, website graphics, social media banners and Google ads.

Brett Jefferson

Brett has worked in design & marketing for over two decades – including a ten year stint in London where he founded the London Festival of Photography, personally forging relationships with Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool, The Museum of London, The British Museum, the British Library, and The National Portrait Gallery, among others.He also founded a global youth project with the United Nations, which in addition to a presentation to then Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, at UN HQ in NYC, included two annual exhibitions at the UN Secretariat building in NYC, as well as exhibitions and events on five continents. During his time in London, Brett was also the creative director of a digital design agency and record label for five years.

Since returning to South Africa Brett has worked as a senior art director, marketing manager, and senior project manager for a variety of agencies before founding The Ethical Agency.

Brett guides the company’s overall design vision and design aesthetic for all projects, as well as oversees the company’s overall vision. Brett eats a predominantly plant-based diet and cares passionately about the planet and animal kingdom.

Chelsea Jansen

Chelsea has over five years experience as a studio traffic manager – having managed three national photographic studios for South Africa’s leading brand content company, before joining The Ethical Agency. Chelsea specialises in workflow and the project management of our design team and studio. With training in both communication science, digital marketing and  photography, Chelsea has a keen eye for design detail and is also TEA’s photography library expert.

Chelsea’s responsibilities include interpreting briefs from clients, and managing the design team to undertake the work within deadlines and budget. Chelsea will manage your project from start to finish, including communicating updates on deliverables, as well as quality control and proofing of all outgoing work.

Chelsea is a work-flow and systems junkie and is always looking for new ways to streamline processes for improved efficiency. She is plant-based and cares deeply about sustainability and the environment.

Danielle Koen

Art director and senior graphic designer

Diploma: Visual Communication

Danielle is an exceptionally talented graphic designer charged with consistently conceptualising high quality design concepts for our clients.

Her design background started in the wine industry where she ran the in-house design department for Meridian Wine Merchants. Danielle followed that with a seven year stint at Purple Berry where she helped with the rebrand of Nedbank’s marketing assets. During this time she won various awards and worked on a range of exciting projects for dozens of high profile South African brands.

With 12 years graphic design experience under her belt, Danielle is TEA’s graphic design lead and art director on key projects – working closely with our designers to ensure the highest level of quality and user engagement.

Dylan Roux

Bachelor of Arts: Graphic Design

With eight years of design experience, Dylan is TEA’s senior graphic designer. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Dylan worked for various agencies before settling at The Ethical Agency in early 2021.

Dylan is a talented all round graphic designer and excels at vector artwork (logos, illustrations, and infographics). He is known for his speed, and when something is needed quickly he is our go-to-man.

Over and above our stock and trade graphic design for print and digital, Dylan is responsible for a number of logos designed by TEA, and is an integral part of our brand development team. Dylan is well versed in the Adobe suite of products and is always looking for ways to improve the department’s efficiency.

Alis Kotze

Alis is our newest member of the design team, and her experience ranges from graphic and digital design, to art direction, social media content creation, and illustration.

Alis worked as a designer for Sealand, one of South Africa’s favourite sustainable brands, as well as In-house designer for a payments solution company and retail clients, before joining the team mid-way through 2022. Alis has already impressed us with her logo design, illustration, and infographic work and she supports the design team with the roll out and delivery of campaign and project work.

Alis is plant-based and cares passionately about sustainability and environmentalism.

Kamohelo Tshabalala

Kamohelo is our newest member of the team and supports the design team with the roll out and delivery of campaign and project work. Kamohelo is a talented artist and his main duties include drawing of illustrations, diagrams and graphic elements as well as the population of content within our many publication projects.

After gathering some experience with some freelance work, TEA is Kamohelo’s first official full time job since graduating and he is quickly learning the ropes of how to tackle high quality design work, the TEA way – working efficiency and to the highest possible standard.

As a full service digital marketing agency, we help organisations on their digital journey to build their online presence and grow their businesses. We do this by creating and nurturing brand trust, curating engaging customer experiences, and raising brand awareness. We build curated experiences through various digital platforms, from SEO (search engine optimisation), to interactive website design, graphic design, email marketing, video content and social media.

Retta is a veteran accounts director in the advertising industry, having spent several decades working with blue chip clients and brands such as Babysoft, Kleenex, Iwisa, Snowflake, Twinsaver, Nativa, Ciro and Rich’s as well as managing internal corporate campaigns. 

She has a breadth of knowledge and experience in marketing, branding, and advertising strategy and and works closely with the design and digital teams.  

Retta takes a personal and collaborative process approach, tailoring projects to clients specific needs, goals and expectations.

Dominique has worked on both sides of the fence – for both agencies as well as directly with brands.

Dominique has managed up to 40 clients concurrently, run marketing teams, and is well versed in everything digital marketing – from marketing strategies, to email marketing, social media management, and Google Analytics and reporting.

Dominique manages TEA’s digital marketing projects from start to finish, and drives client interactions and communications.

Laura is an all rounder and well versed in a range of digital marketing skills – from copywriting, to social media management, email marketing, and coordination. With a background in both fine art and project management, she keeps our projects moving and improving with a keen eye for detail.

Laura has been a vegetarian since she was seven, and is passionate about sustainability and rewilding.

Lee has a passion for language and words and is TEA’s specialist wordsmith. Lee enjoys nothing more than getting under the hood of a client’s brand story – deep-diving into the important landscapes of your industry, Lee’s mission is to write   as an expert in your field.

Lee creates written content for social media, websites, and email newsletters.

He is also TEA’s SEO expert, and works closely with Nabeel to create effective and aligned content driven digital marketing campaigns.

Nabeel is a digital marketing expert with more than six years of experience in creating, managing, and optimising successful ad campaigns. He thoroughly enjoys finding solutions to our customers’ challenges, and is passionate about client satisfaction and scientifically driving ROI.

Nabeel is highly skilled in deploying bespoke tracking solutions with Google Tag Manager, and is also vastly experienced in web design, SEO, copywriting, and managing the Google Marketing Platform ecosystem along with other Google products. Nabeel is also our paid media specialist within the business. Nabeel manages more than R150 000 worth of ad spend on a monthly basis. 

Nabeel is a vegan, and believes in sustainable business practices and advancing the circular economy.

Bhavika Patel

Bhavika has worked as web designer since 2015, and has built over 70 websites in her career thus far. Bhavika’s skills are extensive, and she is well versed in wireframing, PHP, HTML, CSS3, Javascript, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Bootstrap, and GitHub.

Bhavika is also a whiz with the Adobe suite of applications.

She is our resident WordPress specialist and front-end developer – making websites that are both visually appealing and functioning seamlessly is her passion.

Self taught

John is an accomplished web developer and coder, with a tech-based mind, who is always finding solutions to problems we never knew we had.

John is a self taught full stack website developer and WordPress specialist, heading both the web development team and TEA’s IT department. He has over seven year’s experience with a number of website frameworks and programming languages, and is our security & database management expert. John follows a plant-based diet and is a renewable energy expert.

Being a web developer with an acute understanding of the digital world, John cares very much for his privacy – hence we have presented him anonymously.

Jadine Peters

Jadine has worked as a front-end web developer since 2016, and has built over 50 websites in his career thus far. Jadine’s experience and skills include developing websites from wireframes and mockups, website maintenance and optimisation.

Jadine is a master of the WordPress framework, and well versed in WordPress theme development and customisation.

Adrian Lombard

Adrian is the latest addition to our dev team. He is fundamental to our website maintenance services and undertakes maintenance for all of our retainer clients.

He also supports the dev team with front-end development on client projects. He is proactive and is keen to work on front-end projects where his passion lies.

In his free time he can be found assisting with housekeeping tasks for the IT Department or having a team building/problem solving session with the lead.
