7. Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans

Services provided: Website design

Yet another wonderful opportunity to work with Africa’s first online newspaper, the ‘200 Young South Africans’ project comprised the most prestigious list of people under 35 years of age in the country. The overall design concept was created by alumni of M&G’s list, the seriously talented David Tshabalala of Suketchi (for whom we built their website). We worked closely with Suketchi to design and build the website in line with their overall style guide.

The cherry on top? This project took home the title of ‘Best Digital Project to Engage Younger and/or Millennial Audiences’ at the 2019 African Digital Media Awards!

The project that sent Mexican food cravings throughout our office, this family-run Cape Town fast food chain commissioned us to create store promotional material in the form of posters and table talkers. 3. Western Cape SPCA

Services provided: Graphic design, illustration, infographics

Having our very own office dog as a colleague, working for an organisation that supports animal welfare is very close to our hearts.

We created a range of promotional material encouraging people to adopt SPCA dogs, posters to help people learn more about microchipping and produced a brochure for their vet stores.

Side note: we tried to hold back on the gushing over cute animals and failed miserably.

2. SAFCEI

Services provided: Infographic, illustration, graphic design

SAFCEI (Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute) is a multi-faith organisation committed to supporting faith leaders and their communities in Southern Africa to increase awareness, understanding and action on eco-justice, sustainable living and climate change.

We worked closely with this SAFCEI to educate consumers and retailers of the poor living conditions of egg-laying hens in South Africa through an infographic, detailing what egg labels really mean. The tragic reality is that 70% of hens live in the most appalling conditions and high time we all learnt the truth and did something about it.
